Nissan Teana Safety
Overview
Safety
Nissan’s concept of “the vehicle that helps protect people.” In the area of safety technology, Nissan pursues innovation as part of its “Safety Shield” concept, an advanced, proactive approach to safety issues based on the idea that cars should help protect people. This approach provides various measures to help the driver and passengers better avoid dangers in ways that are optimized to each of a wide range of circumstances that the vehicle may be in, from “risk has not yet appeared” to “post-crash”.
Environment
Nissan’s environmental philosophy can be described as, “a symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature.” It is our ideal for a sustainable mobile society now and our goal for the future. We launched the Nissan Green Program 2010 with specific objectives to realize the goal, and we are diligently making concerted efforts to reduce environmental impact at every stage of the vehicle life cycle and our corporate activities.
Quality
To provide each of our customers with a consistently high level of quality, we apply the same high quality standards worldwide—ensuring that all Nissan owners enjoy peace of mind for the lives of their vehicles.

Information Safety
Xenon headlamps
Xenon headlamps, equipped with headlamp washers, provide intense long-range illumination and optimum visibility in all weather conditions.
Fog lamps
Bumper-integrated fog lamps provide extra illumination in haze, fog and other low-visibility conditions. Rear fog lamps are also available.
LED rear combination lamps
Quick illumination gives following drivers more time to react.

Impact Safety
Active head restraints
Supports the head, by moving forward in the event of a collision.
Improved Zone Body construction
Nissan has optimized the multi-load path structure, which absorbs and diffuses the energy of a front-end collision and helps to maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment, offering the world’s highest level of impact safety.
Dual front, side and curtain SRS airbags
Together with pretensioner front seatbelts, these SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) airbags help to reduce the risk of injury resulting from an impact.

Control Safety
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
Contributes to safe driving by enhancing braking control to optimize braking performance with loads of various weights.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
VDC automatically controls brake and engine output to enhance stability when sensors detect that the vehicle may slip sideways, due to steering, braking or accelerator pedal operation.
